General Work and Quoted Jobs –
(Read Me. I’m the usual)
One of our professional and friendly tradespeople will come to your home, take a look at your issues and provide you with options for repairing and/or replacing your plumbing problems.
You will be provided an upfront price for doing the work.
What Is a Free Online Quote?
A Free Online Quote is a quote that we can send you from our office without the need for us to arrange for a tradesperson to attend site to assess the problem or provide technical advice.
It is suitable for people who know exactly what they want and who do not want our opinion on the best options moving forward. For example, if you are asking us to quote a Caroma Luna toilet suite, we will assume that you have measured the water and waste points to confirm they are suitable for this model of toilet.
The information you provide will be reviewed by a qualified plumber who will then put together a quote for the work.
All free online quotes are based on the tradesperson’s best technical understanding of the site requirements as per the provided information. Accepted quotes are subject to change if on commencement we identify issues that were previously unknown.
Many people will seek a free online quote if they have received a plumbing quote from another firm and would like a comparison quote.
Please note, we recommend arranging for us to attend site to do a Home Inspection as per the below description so that we can provide you with our professional opinion and multiple suitable options for solving your problems. This will put more of the responsibility on us and you will know all of our recommendations prior to proceeding.
What Is a Home Inspection?
Assuming you agree to proceed with at least one of the quoted items on the day of attendance, there is no charge for this service.
If the quote is not accepted on the day, we charge a Site Assessment fee of $90 (or $81 if the customer books in using the online booking system).
During the site assessment, our tradespeople will generally offer a free home inspection. A home inspection must be completed to gain the 6-month home warranty. For more information, please Click Here
Usually, once the quote is accepted the tradespeople will commence work straight away. For some jobs where the work is found to be larger than expected or special order material is required, we will reschedule the work.
A 25% deposit will be taken for work not being completed on the day or requiring special order parts.
Note – No diagnostic or investigative work is included in the site assessment fee.
Minimum Technical Assistance / Advice Fee
For jobs where the tradespersons advice or attendance alone resolves the customer’s issue, there is a minimum technical assistance fee of $212
Examples of scenarios this could occur include
- The client calls for no water to a fixture and during the site assessment, our tradesperson locates a closed isolation tap and is able to easily restore the water without further work.
- A tradesperson attends to site and provides advice that the cause of the issue is someone elses responsibility, such as ACT Governments, Icon Water or a Strata Committee
- A tradesperson attends to site and provides advice to the client that an issue can not be resolved using plumbers. Eg a recent example, a client booked in a “blocked drain” as water was pooling on their floor, however, the fault was the tiles did not fall towards to floor waste. A tiller was required to re-install the floor tiles.
Diagnostic Fee’s
In some circumstances, tests or inspections will be required in order to diagnose the fault and provide an accurate quote to resolve the issue. In events such as these, the tradesperson will provide you with a quote for investigating/diagnosing the fault. Once the exact fault is known, they will be able to provide you with a quote for repair.
Example of faults that will require diagnosing before repair
- An unknown water leak
- Investigating the cause of a leaking shower
